Read about inherit. The min-height property always overrides both height and max-height. Authors may use any of the length values as long as they are a positive value.

And why does the comment behind min-height says something about em? If you check the computed style values in dev tools, the body element has a height of zero. If the content is smaller than the minimum height, the minimum height will be applied.

It prevents the used value of the height property from becoming smaller than the value specified for min-height. Not true. Also the px is coming from the content, not any css. Chrome is showing you the "displayed" height, not the set height. Maybe the better question is: How does the BODY's background fill the window when it's height is px. Do we trust the content, or the background? Screw it. Who doesn't have javascript anyways? Especially for this demographic.

Sandro Munda It's just not nice to use JavaScript. You said Screw it yourself, but this shouldn't be the defacto best way to do it. Don't like that it got a correct answer thingy. Jquery is quite overkill.
