Sermon can you hear me now

Fruit is the proof of salvation. We must weed out the things that hinder the growth of fruit in our lives. When we give our lives to Christ, we give up our old life. As we move in to vss. Jesus likens our hearing of His Word to receiving light. He says in verse 18 that we must consider carefully how we listen. We need to listen in such a way that we understand how to apply it to our lives and in such a way that we understand how to share it with others. Jesus explains that like a lamp, we are to shine.

When we receive it, we are to share it with others. We are to bear fruit, to do good deeds, and as others see these good deeds it will lead to them praising God also. Just like the way you look like your parents, your obedience to God, your character reflects to others the fact that you are in His family. Our relationship with God begins with faith in Jesus Christ, but we must realize that placing our faith in Christ demands that we in turn follow Him, that is His call! Our lives must produce fruit and this involves transformation and change.

Throughout our lives, in the midst of our relationship with God, we must always be growing. We grow by spending time with God. John 15 calls this abiding. Join the discussion.
