How does monica know phoebe

She has an important connection to all of the main characters in Friends and her apartment was the primary meeting spot, besides Central Perk. Monica would go on to marry Chandler, but she was first introduced to him at Thanksgiving years prior.

He attended the Geller family dinner and commented on her macaroni, causing her to pursue a career as a chef.

Unfortunately, Chandler also made a comment about her weight, which made her obsess about her appearance. As revealed in the Friends pilot, Monica and Rachel were best friends since they were kids. Monica didn't meet Phoebe until she was an adult living in the city. There aren't many details regarding their first encounter, but Phoebe served as Monica's roommate. The living situation didn't last long, however, since Phoebe couldn't take Monica's excessive neatness.

Around that time, Monica met Joey since he was thinking about moving in across the hall with Chandler. When Monica first ran into Joey, she had a crush on him but those feelings quickly disappeared.

As the older brother of Monica, Ross was familiar with his sister's friends, particularly Rachel. Ross harbored feelings for Rachel in high school, but since he was friends with her bully, he helped create the "I Hate Rachel Club".

After Rachel reentered Monica's life, Ross finally came clean about his true feelings. Besides Rachel, Ross had known Chandler for years before Friends began. Chandler was Ross' college roommate and best friend. Ross was introduced to Joey through Chandler.

At first, Ross and Joey were just mutual friends, but they went on to become very close pals. Ross' first encounter with Phoebe might be the best highlight of how each member of the group met.

Ross was mugged by Phoebe when he was years-old. She stole his backpack, including the only copy of his Ross' comic, Science Boy. She has been sneaking out every night and sneaking back in every morning, spending the past week at her grandmother's apartment.

Chandler is trying to find a new roommate with little luck. Ross and Carol are having problems in their marriage. Ross thinks that this is cause Carol does not have any other friends, but he is optimistic because she just met a woman at the gym, Susan Bunch , and they bonded well. The gang discovers that the bar is being turned into a coffee house. Rachel enters the bar for drinks with her friends. They celebrate the fact that in a year she will marry Barry.

Rachel feels hesitant, saying that she wants one last fling with the next guy that she sees. Chandler overhears this and immediately interrupts her conversation by dropping a pool ball next to her table but Rachel shows no interest in him.

Monica and Rachel briefly catch up, and make vague plans to get together in the future. Chandler interviews Eric, a fashion photographer who informs Chandler that models would be at the apartment from time to time if he was to move in, and that his sister is a porn star. Chandler decides that Eric will be his new roommate and rushes through his interview with Joey after the latter believed him to be gay until Chandler tells him otherwise.

Heckles shows up and when Eric informs Heckles that he is moving in with Chandler, Heckles claims that he is Chandler's roommate and sends Eric away. Chandler thinks he just never showed up, being angry with him and reluctantly accepts Joey as his new roommate, which Monica approves of.

They bond over Baywatch and beers. Monica is attracted to Joey and invites him into her apartment for some lemonade. But on season seven, episode four, "The One With Rachel's Assistant," Ross accuses Chandler of getting drunk in college and having sex with the woman who cleaned their dorm. There are several other allusions to Ross' college sex life throughout the show. In one flashback episode, Ross is shown passionately making out with a girl at a party, and she reassures him she won't tell anyone about their fling.

So maybe Ross was just lying to everyone about losing his virginity to Carol. Ross mentions his young son, Ben, tons of times throughout his ill-fated relationship with Emily. He cites Ben as the reason why he can't move to England with her, both before and after their wedding. Curiously, however, Ben doesn't appear at Ross and Emily's wedding. Actually, his name doesn't come up at all, at any point, on the two-part season four finale in England.

Ross scarcely mentions his son in the show's final three seasons. Ross and Rachel welcome their daughter, Emma, just 12 episodes later on the seventh season finale. While Emma appears fairly regularly until the show's end, Ben never gets to meet his half-sister — at least not onscreen. Joey has seven seven! The only other time that any of them show up is on season eight, episode 10, "The One With Monica's Boots.

Dina and her baby are never mentioned again. We know from multiple flashback episodes that Rachel and Chandler have met many times. They spent multiple Thanksgivings together at the Geller house, and even made out once at a college party, as seen on season 10, episode 11, "The One Where the Stripper Cries. But this seems like a weird premise for many "Friends" fans, since Chandler isn't exactly known as an unemotional guy.

Maybe it was just for dramatic effect, because later — on season eight, episode 16, "The One Where Joey Tells Rachel" — she tells him that she doesn't even believe in the concept of "soulmates.
